This is seen where 70% of the teachers felt that art education should not be eliminated during budget cuts, with 20% of them disagreeing with the idea that art education should not be eliminated during budget cuts. In addition, 80% of the administrators and all members of the board of education agreed that art education should not be eliminated during budget cuts. This response is an indication of the high value teachers, administrators, board of educators and the commuity at large, have to art education. This high regard for art education is seen where all teachers agree that art education increases the visual and spatial skills of the learner. This response was also seen with the administrators and board of educators. Where, 60% of the administrators strongly agreed and 40% agreed, while 40% of the members of the board of education strongly agreed with 60% agr eeing, that art education increases the visual and spatial skills of the learner. These results are in agreement with literature, that indicated that the arts play an important role in enhacing the intrinsic value and general academic achievement of the student (Ashford, 2004,

Network Effects and Path Dependence - Research Paper Example Network effect or direct-benefit effect is considered to be a vital part of economics and business. It is a kind of effect which determines that for certain sorts of decisions, an individual would incur an explicit benefit when he/she aligns their behaviour with the behaviour of other individuals. In this context, it is determined that the value of a product is directly dependent on the number of users using it (Kemper 67-84). Path dependence can be stated as a substitute analytical process for economics which is acknowledged to be a radical change of the neo-classical standards. It is a process of economic allocation where the arrangement of allocating determinates such as technology, factor, endowment, preference and institution not only depend on certain fundamentals but also depend on a particular contingent event. Instead of converting into an identified determinant, the process has undergone a number of potential equilibrium and selects it on the basis of the specific history o f the process. Secondly, the characteristics of the rapidly emerging technological changes are also viewed to have an impact on the features of the different potential equilibrium and the permanence of â€Å"lock-in† to a specific path of allocation.
